About Me

Posted by Chris Bowditch Wednesday, February 15, 2006

My name is Chris Bowditch and currently I am the Youth Minister at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Doncaster, VICAustralia. I began working at this church in January 2008.  I am also studying for a Masters of Divinity at Ridley Melbourne Ministry and Mission College. I was born in 1984 into a Christian Family and I've been a Christian since 2001 (although maybe I have been since birth depending on your views on infant baptism). I've been in some form of Youth Ministry since 2002 when I was a junior leader on a week long junior high summer camp.  I've been in some form of 'professional' Youth Ministry since 2006.

History
I was born in the state of NSW in Australia. When I was 10 I moved to Tasmania, so consider myself Tasmanian. At the start of 2008 I moved to Melbourne, Victoria to undertake theological study and continue working as a Youth Minister.  On January 30, 2010 I got married to the beautiful Ellisa.

This blog
This blog started on Wednesday 15th Feb 2006. It wasn't much of a post and it indicated I didn't really know what was going to happen with this blog. Since then the blog has developed and there are probably X major types of posts that I now write...
  1. Youth Ministry related posts - where I write about youth ministry theology, practice, strategy and vision.
  2. Culture posts - where I reflect on the society in which I live
  3. Theological posts - usually written to help me clarify what I think about something I'm learning at college.
  4. Life related posts - where I write about things that are happening in my life.
  5. Resource posts - usually where I post a sermon I have given, or a series of youth talks I have written. I hope these will be of use to someone.
  6. Links to others - sometimes I see an interesting article written on other blogs or websites that I will link to... if I have time I might even give my own thoughts
  7. Other - Sometimes I post on interesting things that don't relate to any of the above... I apologise for this!
