My degree ...I've been watching some Hirsch videos. My degree is in missions so a lot of the principles he is using come directly from missiology. I like what he says. I have a friend who is connected to the US branch of Forge "Missio". There are all of these Goth kids that he has been spending time with for about 4 years now and they have welcomed him as part of their community. Note, he is almost 50 years old. The alpha male of the Goth kids got married about a month ago and asked Bob (my friend) to be his best man, and asked Waylan (another friend) to read from the scriptures in front of all of his friends who are generally turned off by anything having to do with church. But in a very real way, they are becoming a church. They are starting to ask questions about God. They are starting to seek out people who can teach them. We have the word "egg." painted on the wall of our church. It stands for egios or eggikin which is greek for at hand. Jesus used the word when referring to the Kingdom of heaven (is at hand). Regularly the kids have asked us what it means and are open to hearing why we believe what we believe. So there's a story about these mission principles working amongst a group of forgotten people.Joeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16513449359230411991noreply@blogger.com
