I have to say, for any critique I can have of Driscoll he hit the nail on the head a few times here.

1. A lot of these things have been said before - Dave Reitveld, Alan Hirsch, etc. I'm glad somebody as popular as Driscoll has said them too but I don't think these are new ideas.
2. Apologetics you have plenty. I'm not convinced Sydney Anglicans need more apologetics - more mission, yes. More apologetics may only lead to more people thinking that they need to argue people into submission to Christ.
3. I think Australian's have a wonderful emphasis on evangelism - one that has often called me back to that as a priority but he is right about mission. Evangelism is very very narrowly defined in many circles and I noticed it a lot in Tassie. To say that the soul is somehow more important or even different than the body is kind of ridiculous - platonic even. We are human, body and soul, and God cares about the restoration and transformation of both for all time. His mission is to restore all things to the way he wants them. He makes all things new. Healing the body and healing the soul is good news and from my experience Australia could use a re-emphasis on holistic evangelism - an evangelism that says the Kingdom of God is at hand and his reign not only is spiritual but covers every aspect of your life. James says that the true religion is religion that speaks to the physical needs of the disenfranchised, the oppressed, and the least of these.
Chris, thanks for posting this - I was hoping I'd get a chance to hear what he had to say. I hope my analysis was not too "American" for you guys!
